6 ways to overcome your problems

ValueMags knows, life is not perfect and sometimes it throws curveballs your way. Andrew Degenholtz has been president and CEO of ValueMags for a long time and has his share of problems to deal with. Something’s you have control over changing and other you just have to let be. For students, the highest priories for them to think about are their grades and their grade point average (GPA).  For most programs, being able to keep up your GPA over a certain cut off can mean staying in the concentration or getting kicked out.

We will correlate each step on how to solve your problem with that of your GPA. The first step is simple enough: identify the problem you want to solve. In other words, get to know your problem. Understand how GPAs are calculated and what you need to remain in the program of your choice. Once you establish that information, you have to gather relevant data. I know this sounds kind of dry but it is vital to go through this exercise. Looking at GPAs you have to do a self-analysis on what is the root cause leading to a low GPA. For some people it can be the fact they are spending too much time with their boyfriend and girlfriend instead of studying. For others it can be the fact that they had too many other things to do, which took away from more studying. Whatever the case may be, you have to figure out what is preventing you from getting the grades you want.

When Andrew was going through this exercise, the third step was always a challenge. It consists of clarifying the problem. Here you might realize that your life is out of control. You can’t take care of everything thrown your way. At some point the question you need to answer is how you can get your life back in order. Generating possible solutions to your problems is the fourth stage. Looking back to our GPA example, not spending, as much time away from your studies is a possible solution. Another can be forming a study group to review material and get clarification from your peers. You can’t do it all so selecting the best option is key. You still need time for yourself to make sure you are getting enough sleep and exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The last step is to apply your decision and monitor your choice. ValueMags does this by getting feedback from people around him to see he advantages and disadvantages of his choice.
